Each November, the Li’l Woodzeez community looks forward to Friendsgiving. The Li’l Woodzeez gather at the Market Square to give thanks, share and celebrate each other over a delicious supper. It is one of the celebrations the community most looks forward to. Everyone has their favorite part of the festivity, from talking to an old neighbor, to dancing or enjoying the good food.

The Oliphant Family has a special surprise for this year’s Friendsgiving. They are making something unique from the Bubble Trouble Soda Shop to offer up. The Oliphant’s have a booming business serving up bubbly, sweet drinks at their shop. Cases of cherry-berry cola and bubble beetroot are sold every day. For the dinner, the Oliphant have been experimenting with new recipes. Even kids Fizz and Lizz are helping to create a beverage fit for a special day.

In the weeks leading up to the celebration, the whole Oliphant family joined together to experiment with different ingredients to get the taste just right.

“Something a bit sweet!” suggested Fizz.

“A dash sour!” added Lizz.

“Maybe a hint of spice! And with double the fizz of our usual bubbly soda!” Wendi replied to Fizz and Lizz.

Once they hit the taste target, they started to bottle their beverage in time for the big day. They would make one big jug for the toast ceremony.

On the day of the event, Fizz and Lizz could hardly contain their excitement.

“We feel just like that jug of fizzy juice – ready to pop!” Lizz cried.

“I hope everyone loves our recipe!” Fizz wished as they prepared to head out.

The family loaded the giant jug into a red wagon and began rolling it toward the Market Square where everyone was meeting. Everything seemed to be going smoothly – until it wasn’t. Just before they reached their destination, the red wagon hit a rock. With that, the cork came flying out of the top of the jug. The drink was so bubbly and had been shaken so much going over the Hollow cobblestone pathways, that the liquid inside shot straight up into the air. The bubbly soda came down from the sky like a fountain.

The Oliphants looked around at each other but before anyone could let out a full gasp mom Wendi cried out.

“Honeysuckle Hollow, quickly grab your glasses!”

The neighbors all knew what to do, they ran over with their glasses and each perched under the fountain of soda in the sky. With their cups overflowing, and with joyful laughter echoing out they stretched out their arms catching the bubbly.

“Happy Friendsgiving!” called out the Oliphants.

Tune in next week as things get holiday festive in the Hollow!
