The secret lives of the Bobbleez is not well known but some say that in the summer months they go to swim and sunbathe at a small stream deep deep in the forest. This is a story told by an elder to another elder of Honeysuckle Hollow of the Bobbleez beach and the types of things you might see on any beautiful summer’s day…

The Bobbleez love the summer! They spend a lot of time in the cooler months tucked away in trees so when the sun comes out – the fun comes out! The Bobbleez head out in groups, towels thrown over their shoulders and buckets in tow. There is always lots of play to be had at the Bobbleez beach. It’s a secret beach at the end of a long and winding road and very few know the route.

Legend has it that at the Bobbleez beach there is a secret handshake to get in. Something like two claps, a thumbs up, a jig on each foot, a spin, a jump, a triple wiggle and a rump shake. But this handshake has not been confirmed. If you get it right, they know you are a Bobbleez and you get to proceed and set up your towel for the day.

With sunglasses on, sunscreen applied and cool beverages within reach – the Bobbleez get serious about relaxing. They put their favorite tunes on the radio. Some Bobbleez dance in the sand. When they get too hot, they jump into the waves. Others prefer to play cards or read a great book. Bobbleez love adventure stories and romance novels.

And some point, one or two Bobbleez will call out that they are hungry and someone will take out a cooler or a BBQ. They will pass around popsicles and other small snacks to share. Bobbleez love sharing.

The Bobbleez are more competitive than you might think! They often have sandcastle building contests. With any tools and treats they can find, they use their imagination to create incredible sand creations. Not just castles are built but all kinds of sand art.

Bobbleez have endless energy for play. And it can be said that no one ever wants to leave the beach! But when the sun goes down, they gather up all their stray belongings – water flippers, buried flip flops, sun hats and comic books and line up to say goodbye to their friends.

The Bobbleez have a ritual when saying goodbye in groups – they do a big hug chain and everyone takes turns hugging each friend so they leave with a maximum amount of hugs and snuggles. The beach is left in perfect condition (Bobbleez never litter!). The only way you would know they had a beach party is by the small grains of leftover sand at the bottom of their acorn houses.
