Mel Canberra skipped to her home in Honeysuckle Hollow, where the rest of her family was rehearsing for the upcoming talent show.

Just like the MoosicalMoo singers, the Canberra Koalas had a special talent. In fact, they were very famous actors and were known as the Toowoomba Acting Troupe! They loved to be on stage, so they were very excited about this performance.

“I think this routine will be our best yet!” exclaimed Teddie, as he did a cartwheel and landed on the floor with a THUMP! “Oops!” giggled Tessa. “Let’s hope you don’t rip your shorts next time!”

Just then, their dad Sydney realized something important was missing. “Wait a minute! What costumes are we going to wear?”

The Canberras had completely forgotten about them!

“Uh oh!” said Mel. “Is there anything in the wardrobe we could reuse?” They searched through hundreds of hangers but couldn’t find anything suitable. This was a brand-new dance routine all about the history of music and they needed something for the disco section!

“What are we going to do?” asked Teddie. “The talent show is just one week away!”

“I know!” said Tessa. “Let’s see if the Riverdipper Hippos can help!” The Riverdippers were known in Honeysuckle Hollow for their great taste in fashion. If anyone was able to help, it would be them!

Mel picked up the phone and explained the problem to Wade Riverdipper, asking if the family would have time to help. “What do you think, guys?” asked Wade.

Wade looked at his wife, Penny.
Penny looked at their two kids, Heidi and Humphrey.
Heidi and Humphrey looked at each other.
“Let’s do it!” they cried.

The Canberras headed over to the makeshift workshop at the Riverdipper house so Penny could take their measurements, while Heidi gathered up all the shiny buttons and colorful spools of thread. Wade started up the sewing machine and Teddie stood by to hand his dad all the bits of material needed.

They worked all morning, through lunch, and into the evening, hand-stitching ruffles and gluing sequins.

The Canberras recited their lines as they waited, rolling their Rs and rhyming words to memorize everything.

“OK, I think we’re ready!” called Wade. The Riverdippers had whipped up four whole jumpsuits for Mel, Sydney, Tessa, and Teddie. And guess what? They all fit perfectly!

Tessa twirled around in her new outfit, frills spinning. “I just love it!” she cried.

The Canberras were sure to be the sparkliest performers on stage!
