After the recent snow sculpture festival in Honeysuckle Hollow all the neighbors were getting into the wintertime spirit. The Whiskerelli Cat family, who run the Sweet & Treats food truck make the most of it in the summer months. When the snow piles up on the ground, the truck gets parked and typically the Whiskerelli’s take a winter break. But this season, they want to surprise everyone with some winter treats.
Mom Kitt and Dad Chet told kids Wally and Dixie to walk around the neighborhood and let everyone in the community know they had a surprise in store and to bring a list over of their favorite ingredients.
That week there was many a knock at the Whiskerelli front door!
“Knock, knock!”
“Whose there?” Chet would cry out.
“It’s the Croaklily family! We have come with our favorite ingredient for your mystery Sweets truck.”
“Knock, knock!”
“Whose there?” Kitt would cry out.
“It’s the Wagadoodles! We have come with some ideas for you!”
During the week, there were many more visits from their neighbors. The Whiskerelli’s cupboards were overflowing with different ingredients and now it was time to get to work.
“What will we do next?” asked Wally.
“With all the yummy ideas and ingredients our friends have shared, we are going to make some delicious flavored syrups! I will show you all how and we will do it together,” said Dad Chet.
“Yes, it isn’t too hard and when we’re done, we will have lots of delicious winter treats in special Honeysuckle Hollow flavors for our friends to choose from,” explained Kitt.
“But what do we do after with the syrup?” asked Dixie.
“We are going to make snow cones!” said parents Chet and Kitt.
Wally and Dixie’s eyes sparkled with excitement. They loved the idea! They began chopping of bowls of different foods, spices and herbs their friends had brought by. Step by step their parents showed them how to turn them into different flavors. At the end of the day, they had ten different kinds!
The Sweets & Treats food truck parked in the center of Honeysuckle Hollow for its special pop-up Winterlicious surprise. The neighbors were waiting in anticipation and had come with enthusiasm and hungry bellies.
“Wow! Look at all the flavors of snow cones” said Kya Kingsberry. Kya has a sweet tooth!

A crowd formed around the sign and the Sweets & Treats food truck. Each member of Honeysuckle Hollow took a turn to grab a snow cone and try their flavor of choice. The winter treats were a huge hit!
“We just might have to do this again!” said Kitt.
“Yes, we are almost sold out of every flavor! I can’t believe it!” exclaimed Chet.
Dixie and Wally were tired from the day but Chet and Kitt had one last surprise in store. They took out a container of syrup that was labelled, “Dixie & Wally – Our Puuurrfect Mix”.
“For us?!” Dixie said surprised.
“Just for you both! Shall we dig in?” asked their mom Kitt.
The four Whiskerella’s enjoyed their own snow cones with their own flavor and indeed it was …just purrrrfect!
