The DaintyPaw family live in a big house where there is always lots of action. With seven cats and three generations, it is no wonder the house is always filled with laughter, games and stories. The DaintyPaw family has a weekly evening ritual where Grandpa Rupert tells a story to the DaintyPaw kids Piper, Ziggy and Sady. This week the story is about luck!

“Gather around kids!” called Rupert as he got comfortable in his rocking chair.

Piper, Ziggy and Sady each grabbed their favorite worn in cushions from the couch and curled up at Rupert’s feet. Huddled together while sipping warm milk, they listened to their Grandpa weave a story about the magic of fourleaf clovers

“I even have my very own!” Rupert said as the story ended, “He reached inside his vest and took out a four-leaf that was pressed between two pieces of cardboard to keep it safe.

“Oh wow!!” the kids eye grew big as they imagined all the luck that four-leaf clover had brought their grandpa over the years.

“I’ll tell you what! Tomorrow let us walk over to the big field in Honeysuckle Hollow and you three can look for your own clovers!” said Rupert.

The three DaintyPaw children could not imagine something they would rather do!

Clovers

The next day, Grandpa Rupert drove Piper, Ziggy and Sady out to a great big field. It was still a bit chilly, but the kids didn’t notice because they had clovers on the brain. Immediately, the three jumped out and with small shovels and magnifying glasses they began their big green four-leaf clover hunt. It truly was like finding a needle in a haystack

Deep into their hunt, the three were no closer to clovers when the Wagadoodle children Spark and Scoot came strolling along. They were carrying skipping ropes and wearing running shoes.

“Hello there!” shouted Scoot “What are you doing?”

“We are hunting for four-leaf clovers! They are lucky!” said Ziggy.

“Really? That sounds so cool! Can we join you?” asked Spark.

“Absolutely” all three DaintyPaws nodded in agreement.

Clovers

The field stretched out before them and with all their furry heads bowed, they began hunting for lucky clovers. To pass the time they sang songs and played eye spy games and only stopped when someone would call out, “I think I got one!!” And all would run over to investigate.

As the sun got lower in the sky, the Wagadoodles and DaintyPaws stretched out on the grass to relax. Grandpa Rupert returned to pick them up and found his three furry heads were now five furry heads

“So! How did it go? Any luck finding luck?!” Rupert said,

“We found seven!!” sang out Piper.

Before parting ways, Piper, Ziggy and Sady gave one fourleaf clover each to Scoot and Spark. They decided to meet up again the next day for a game of Double Dutch. They had been so busy searching the field – no one did any skipping. And as luck would have it, the DaintyPaws loved skipping too.
