The Bobbleez – Part 2

The neighbors of Honeysuckle Hollow are getting excited for the holidays. There has been something extra special this year to feel excited about… something unexpected! There are all sorts of small jobs and acts of kindness happening around the Honeysuckle community. First, there were customers at the Baabaa Salon & Spa that had beautiful bows appear in their hair. Next, after pies were left alone to cool by the Bushytail bakers, they returned to find the same pies boxed and decorated. Shortly after that, the Tidyshine’s roller skates appeared after they had forgotten them behind. By whom? Nobody knows.

Most recently, the famous Hollow Holiday tree – which the community recently decorated together – is now surrounded by other decorated trees. No one knows who decorated them. There were some clues and the children of the Honeysuckle Hollow community have kept track of them. Acorn shells – small trails of them and always leading toward the Hollow forest. And that big heart left in the snow, made up of many snow angels. The young ones of Honeysuckle Hollow could not be more excited and curious about the magical events that seem to be unfolding. And as the adults shared clues and laughed about whose paws are responsible – one of their elder’s, Grandpa Boris Cottonball rounded up the children for a holiday story.

“Deep in the Honeysuckle Hollow forest there is a Great Oak Tree. You would know it if you saw it right away. It stretches high above the surrounding trees and its beauty radiates; its branches curling up toward the sun,” Boris stretched out his paws to demonstrate, before continuing,  “You have to really squint to see the tallest branches at the top. But if you squint long enough, you’ll see way, way, way up there – large acorns swinging sweetly in the breeze. These acorns are home to the Bobbleez.”

All the kids of Honeysuckle Hollow sat perfectly still and quiet. You could hear a pin drop as Boris Cottonball continued.

“The Bobbleez are the kindest of creatures that live in the Great Oak Tree. The Bobbleez are most known for slipping into Honeysuckle Hollow and doing good deeds before anyone can see them – like kindness fairies. The Bobbleez delight in surprises! As you have noticed!” Boris let out a big chuckle.

“In the daytime, if the Bobbleez are not out playing in the trees – you will likely find them safe and tucked away in their acorns. If, while under the Great Oak Tree you tilt your head upward and strain your ear and listen oh-so-closely, you will hear a quiet buzzing sound. Bees? No. Birds? Not this time. It is all the Bobbleez snoring together as they fall into a deep slumber. As magical as the Bobbleez are (and they are magical!) – a day of fun and adventure demands a midday nap.”

The eyes of all the Honeysuckle Hollow children glowed with excitement. They all looked toward the forest – hoping to spot one of the Bobbleez.
