Easter is a very special time in Honeysuckle Hollow. The grass is greener, the sun feels warmer, and li’l flowers begin to sprout as all the Li’l Woodzeez decorate their homes with spring motifs. They can’t wait for Easter morning when the egg hunt begins!
Every year, someone is chosen to play the role of the Easter bunny. And that special person gets to hide all the eggs for the Honeysuckle Hollow egg hunt! This time, it was Chuck Cottonball who was the Easter bunny.
All was well until the morning of the hunt, when Chuck’s eggs had disappeared!
Will you follow Chuck Cottonball on his Easter adventure? You will? Let’s go!
At the crack of dawn, on Easter morning, Chuck went to grab his basket full of eggs so he could hide them. It was his third year playing the role of Easter bunny, and he was hoppin’ for joy over all the places he would hide the eggs. He’d hide them in bushes, he’d sneak ‘em between couch cushions… When – lo and behold – Chuck’s Easter basket was empty.
“Uh-oh!” Chuck cried. “The Easter eggs are missing!”
“Oh dear,” Chuck’s mom, Cassi, replied. “Where could they have gone, Chuck?”
“Did they roll away?” asked his dad, Andy.
“I don’t know!” Chuck shrugged. “But we must find those eggs, and fast!”
If Chuck couldn’t find them, there’d be no egg hunt this year, and no one would get to play!
Quickly, li’l Chuck hopped out of his home with Mom, Dad, and their big bunny family. He was determined to find the missing Easter eggs.
“The hunt is on!” Chuck announced.

The Cottonballs’ search quickly led them to the Acorn Treehouse, which stood next-door.
“Maybe this is where we’ll find the missing eggs!” Chuck said hopefully.
Together, the Cottonballs searched and searched and searched when, finally, Mom found a clue.
“Look, Chuck!” she said, pointing to a patch of grass next to the treehouse. “Footprints!”
Little footprints dotted the grass up and all around the treehouse, leading to a pile of leaves. Behind it popped out a handful of Babeez!

“What are you li’l ones doing here?” Chuck laughed.
The Babeez held a map of Honeysuckle Hollow in their paws and pointed to the pile of leaves in front of them. What could it mean? Was this another clue?
Chuck gasped. Without hesitation, he dived into the pile of leaves. And hidden in the pile was a missing Easter egg!
“Babeez to the rescue!” he said.
Chuck hopped from one corner of the Acorn Treehouse to another in search of more eggs. One after the other, he found them all! They were hidden behind trees, in bushes and in flowers – in clever li’l spots that kept Chuck bright eyed and bushy-tailed.
What a thrill it was to go on his own surprise Easter egg hunt!
Excited, Chuck counted the eggs in his basket. “I think that’s all of them!” he said, breathlessly. “That was so much fun!”
“Good job getting them all back!” Cassi said proudly.
Together, the Cottonball Rabbits started walking back to the Hillside Cottage.
“But who hid all the Easter eggs?” Chuck wondered. He was the Easter bunny, after all. Who would have taken them from him?
Suddenly, there was a rustle in a nearby bush—and a crack from a tree nearby.
“Who’s there?!” asked Chuck.
“SURPRISE!!”
To Chuck’s delight, neighbors from all over town popped out from all kinds of hiding spots. There were the Toddlewaddle Penguins, the McBristly Porcupines, the Quickquack Ducks, and many more.
“We set up an Easter egg hunt just for you,” said Lolli Toddlewaddle. “Since you’re the one hiding the eggs, we wanted you to enjoy the fun of the hunt yourself!”
Chuck jumped for joy. “Aw, shucks!” he cried. “Thank you! You’re the best friends an Easter bunny could ask for.”
The Li’l Woodzeez cheered for Chuck, who was always so great at playing the Easter bunny.
“Now who’s ready for a REAL hunt?!”
