Li’l Woodzeez is celebrating its 15th anniversary! Each month of this year, we’ll be taking a closer look at one chosen family and recognizing all the things that make it special. We want to give a big round of applause to all the wonderful Famileez that make up our beloved town of Honeysuckle Hollow!
This May, we’re putting a spotlight on the Bushytail Squirrels. Have you met them before? Don’t be shy, say hello!
In this fuzzy family, there’s Mom Maggie, Dad Oliver, little boy Henry and baby Honeybun. They run the Tickle-Your Tastebuds Bakery! Every day, The Bushytails get up very early in the morning and prepare breads, pies, cupcakes, cookies, and other tantalizing goodies for all the critters of Honeysuckle Hollow. Ooey-gooey, fruity n’ delicious, each of their baked treats sell like hot cakes. The Bushytails really have the sweetest job in town!
Fun Facts About the Bushytail Squirrels
- Nut Allergy: Believe it or not, Maggie has a nut allergy! This inspired her to open the Tickle-Your-Tastebuds Bakery and create hoards of nut-free recipes.
- Acorn Hunt: At the start of every spring The Bushytail Squirrel family organize the Great Acorn Hunt. They paint the tops of acorns and hide them all over town. Some colors are worth extra points!
- Dough Thievery: Henry Bushytail is known to take a bite of cookie dough before it’s baked!
- Early Risers: As bakers, the Bushytail Squirrels are early to bed and early to rise to bake cookies, breads, pastries n’ pies. They’re always the first ones up in Honeysuckle Hollow.
- Pro Cycling: Oliver loves to ride his bicycle. He won many cycling championships when he was younger! Now, he rides a special two-person bicycle with baby Honeybun. Together, they use it to quickly deliver pies around town.
Did you know?
The Bushytail Squirrels are of the first group of Li’l Woodzeez Famileez to settle in Honeysuckle Hollow. They founded the town along with the Handydandy Mice, the Diggadilly Raccoons, the Tidyshine Turtles, the Waterwaggle Beavers, the Whooswhoo Owls, the Swiftysweeper Hedgehogs and the Whiffpuff Skunks. Some Famileez have since moved away, but we love them all the same.
BONUS Fact: A group of squirrels is called a “scurry!” Just think of how they climb trees—or scamper over for a treat.
